CoolSculpting 101

Its technology works to freeze and kill the fat cells on your body. How, you ask? When fat cells are exposed to cold at a certain temperature, they freeze. Crafting the Right CoolSculpting Plan
Making a custom plan to fit your needs is a very important part of the treatment’s success! Once you determine if you’re a CoolSculpting candidate, you can then work with one of our CoolSculpting professionals here at Dr. Banis Plastic Surgery office to discuss your specific problem areas and create a treatment plan that is custom fit to your body’s needs.
How Does it Work?
The CoolSculpting treatment is performed with a machine and a cooling panel that lays on your fatty areas. When you come into the office for a treatment, your CoolSculpting professional will apply a cooling panel from the machine onto your skin. Then, your CoolSculpting professional will turn the machine on and you’ll start to feel a slight sucking sensation from the cooling panel. You may feel some pulling, mild pinching, intense cold or tingling sensations during the treatment. But don’t worry, because that’s normal! During this time, you’ll be able to relax while the CoolSculpting technology does its job.
After the treatment is through, your CoolSculpting provider will perform a brief massage on the treated area to break up the fat cells and enhance the productivity of the treatment. Then, that’s it – you’ve completed a CoolSculpting treatment!
After the Treatment
One of the major benefits of CoolSculpting is that it’s a non-invasive fat reduction procedure. Thus, there is no recovery time for this treatment. You can even drive home right after you’re finished! It’s normal to feel swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling or skin sensitivity following a CoolSculpting treatment. However, these side effects are completely temporary and should subside within days or weeks.
