How Does It Work?
An older woman smiles, happy with her results

Moxi uses a fractioned-wavelength handheld laser device that delivers gentle energy waves into the skin of the patient. The intensity of the delivery will depend on what type of cosmetic correction is required. The interface has three levels, with each one being controlled via a user-friendly interface. It can provide defense against damage and signs of aging, as well as revitalize damaged skin to make it look younger and more vibrant. It can also be used for long-term maintenance in conjunction with any skincare regimen that patients may have.

Your Consultation

During your Moxi appointment, we will examine your skin issues and discuss our numerous high-quality medical-grade treatment options. We will inquire about your skincare routine. We will ask if you have undergone prior skincare treatments and, if so, what the results were. We will look over your medical records and develop a treatment plan that can help achieve your skincare goals. We will explain the treatment plan and provide you with skincare instructions to follow before and after the Moxi treatment. Make sure to bring up any concerns so we can address them.

Your Treatment Session

A Moxi treatment can be done in the office during the patient’s lunchbreak. The Moxi setting will vary depending on the skin issue that needs to be treated. Moxi offers a comfortable treatment session. We may prepare the patient’s skin by applying a topical numbing cream, but in many cases, this is not needed. The fractioned wavelength will then be delivered to the affected areas on the patient’s skin. The overall treatment will typically last no more than 30 minutes.

Aftercare

Once the Moxi treatment has been concluded, the patient’s face will be cleaned. Instructions for skincare treatments will then be provided based on the cosmetic problem that was addressed. Patients will be advised not to wear makeup for at least 24 hours. No downtime or recovery time will be needed. Patients may notice small micro dots, or “mends” (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris), on their treated skin. These mends will fall off after three to five days, and the patient will be able to see initial results in the form of healthy and rejuvenated skin. Follow-up treatments of at least three to four sessions are necessary to achieve the best results. For lasting results, the patient should include a Moxi treatment as a form of maintenance in their skincare routine.
