How Does a Cool Mini Work?
CoolMini uses the same power as CoolSculpting through a more compact and precise handpiece. CoolMini works through cryolipolysis which makes use of cold temperature to reduce fat deposits. This process is beneficial for areas of fat that would not respond to diet or exercise, such as the chin and does not cause damage to the surrounding tissue in the area. Other treatment areas that CoolMini can treat include armpits, bra rolls, and knees.

Are You a Good Candidate?
Patients with noticeable excess fat in smaller areas like the chin, armpits, and knees are ideal candidates for CoolMini. Patients who have not been able to reduce these stubborn fat tissues through diet and exercise can consider this treatment. Patients who are pregnant or experiencing weight fluctuations should not consider this treatment. Patients with autoimmune or blood conditions are not good candidates for CoolMini.

What to Expect
CoolMini is an outpatient procedure. A gel pad is placed on the treatment area to protect the skin. The CoolMini applicator, a hand-held device that eventually cools down or freezes the fat cells, is then placed on the treatment area. It pulls the skin using suction before the process begins. So, patients might feel a tugging sensation as the applicator is placed as well as a cooling sensation around the treatment area. CoolSculpting targets a temperature between 30.2 to 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit. It takes around an hour for the procedure to be complete. The area is then massaged for a couple of minutes so that the fat cells break down. No anesthesia, needles, or incisions are involved during treatment.

When Will You See Results?
According to studies, cool sculpting can remove 15 to 28 percent of fat from the chin. Complete results would be visible on the 4th month of the treatment. However, patients will observe a positive change as early as the 3rd week. Optimal results would be visible around the 5th or 6th month of the treatment. A patient might have to undergo 2 sessions (spaced 6-8 weeks apart) to achieve the desired result.
