Face Procedures

Eyelid surgery, or Blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that helps to give the eyes a youthful rejuvenation by getting rid of the excess skin that tends to form as a result of the natural aging process. During the procedure, we will work diligently to remove excess skin and fatty deposits while repositioning any underlying tissue and muscle in the area. This is done to provide the eyes with a more youthful and vibrant appearance.
The natural aging process will cause your face to undergo a series of changes. Some of which won’t be the most desirable. One area that depicts these changes the most, is the area around the eyes. The skin around the eyes will eventually start to develop a droop appearance as a result of sagging skin. In cases such as these, blepharoplasty is often recommended to eradicate the loose skin and bring back the youthful look in your eyes.
Are You a Good Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?
Good candidates for blepharoplasty are those who suffer from a degree of sagging skin that contributes to a much older appearance. Those dealing with obstructed vision caused by saggy skin will also benefit from this procedure. Ideal patients for blepharoplasty should be in good physical health and have realistic expectations.

Preparing for
Before undergoing blepharoplasty, you must first schedule a consultation at Dr. Banis Plastic Surgery. During your consultation, we will perform an examination of your eyes and ask you about your medical history to determine if blepharoplasty is the right cosmetic procedure for you.
During this time, we will also provide you with pre-operative instructions that you will need to adhere to in order to achieve the best results. These instructions may require you to stop smoking, drinking alcohol, and taking certain medications. This will help reduce the risk of complications during the procedure and promote faster recovery.
Eyelid Surgery
As with any other procedure, blepharoplasty will result in some swelling and bruising after the surgery, but this is temporary and will subside. Any lingering discomfort will be addressed with the use of prescribed medication. It’s important that you take some time to rest and recover after the surgery. This means refraining from strenuous physical activities and taking some time off work.
